Festival History

Our Accomplishments

  • In 2009, the organizing committee increased exposure to local artists and artists by the introduction of a free venue, CFRG 93.1 Open Mic.
  • In 2008 there was the addition of Heritage Skits depicting Gravelbourg in the 1930's.
  • In 2007 free venues were established to increase accessibility and participation.
  • In 2006, the Solstice Festival provided the first three days of events for the Town of Gravelbourg Centennial's ten days of celebrations.
  • In 2004 and 2005, the festival incorporated the "Imagination Market" and "Magical Earth Secrets" presented by Cynthia Wells Production.
  • In 2003, a set of Bylaws were formally adopted by the festival board of directors. A semi-permanent outdoor musical stage with weatherproof covering was built and purchased.
  • In 2002, cross cultural programming elements were added to the festival with a multicultural food and music event and workshops hosted on Saturday for both children and adults.
  • In 2001, a five year Strategic Plan was developed and adopted,
  • In 2000, as a first year event, our primary goal was simply to see it successfully executed without any major problems – which was achieved. Extensive positive word of mouth set the stage for our second year.
