Food Festival
Venue: La Palestre Rink
Friday, June 17th
6pm - 8:30pm
The Touch of Europe and Solstice committees invite you to an extravaganza of music, dance and international feasting delights. Over 12 different ethnic food pavilions on site, representing countries such as: Holland, Germany, Laos, Korea, Canada, Chile, Columbia and more.
Highlighting this year's Food Fest theme, The Philippines, are Gravelbourg's local Filipino dance and music groups. Let’s celebrate with them, this five year mark, since the arrival of the first Filipino families.
With over 60 members present and growing, Gravelbourg's Filipino community has founded three dance groups, two singing groups and a small folklore music band, started by musician and lead singer Aldeneil Toto Espanola. Joining together through dance and song allows the Filipino community to demonstrate the beauty of their culture with others but most importantly allows them to speak their language and pass on traditions to their youth. Expect to be enchanted by charming artistic presentations and colourful costumes.
Event hosted by "A Touch of Europe Committee".
